Shots Grill to continue hosting the ‘Berlin Raceway Rewind’ show on 107 WMUS FM

Jenison, MI- The 2009 racing season is fast approaching, as NASCAR’s Speedweeks in Daytona is just a few weeks away. Berlin Raceway kicks off its own season on Saturday, April 18, with the return of short-track racing to West Michigan.

Berlin Raceway’s weekly radio show, newly renamed ‘Berlin Raceway Rewind’, returns for yet another year at Shots Grill, Pizzeria and Pub, 4239 Lake Michigan Drive in Standale. The show season will continue to air in the same time slot as past seasons from 6 to 7 p.m. The Tuesday recap and preview show will also be returning to 106.9 WMUS FM in 2009.

The first ‘Berlin Raceway Rewind’ show will take place on Tuesday, February 17, following the running of the 51st Daytona 500, and will run for 33 consecutive weeks through September 29. The newly formatted weekly show takes an inside look at stock car racing at Berlin Raceway and will also touch on the national scene and other area track results.

A very familiar cast of voices will be heard over the course of the show season, including; Jeff Striegle, Matt McKenzie, Mike Strevel, Norm Jelsma, and Kevin Striegle. Also joining the crew for the first show as a special guest will be George Keen, a longtime radio announcer and driver/car owner at Berlin Raceway.

Drivers and teams will be given the first chance to register for the many prizes and promotional items to be given away at Shots over the course of the race season. Returning for 2009 is the ever-popular tire giveaway, tickets, food specials, and more. Perfect Circle Racecars, which has quickly earned a winning reputation, will again be giving away a chassis at season’s end. Also, PrimeTrax Video race replays will return to the big screens at Shots.

New for the 2009 racing season will be the ‘Shots Grill at the Races’ dinner giveaway. Teams that purchase an entrée during Tuesdays ‘Race Rewind’ show, will become eligible to win a complimentary dinner, which will be delivered to them on Saturday night at the track!

“We are very happy to have Shots Grill back with Berlin this season! It’s really only a few weeks away before racing is underway again and to be back at Shots will be exciting for everyone,” stated new track owner Mike Blackmer. “With the tire and chassis giveaways returning, the race replays, and being back on WMUS, the radio show will be the place to be on Tuesday nights!”
