Rowdy 251 warmup on tap for Saturday, June 9th. Tires for event selected, great chance for a pre-race shakedown!

6/1/2012 - Marne, MI -- Berlin Officials together with Hoosier Tire have announced the tire combination for the Rowdy 251, which will take place on Tuesday, June 19 at Berlin Raceway.

The Template Late Models will be using the F-45 on the left side and the 3045 on the right side. Drivers will be able to test out the new tire combination at the Rowdy Warm-Up event next Saturday, June 9. This is the same combination that is currently being used by Berlin's Outlaw Late Models.  Berlin Raceway Operations Manager Kurt Dietrich said, "We use this combination for the Outlaw cars and we have had some of the best racing that Berlin has seen in years and we are excited to see it on the Template cars."

The Rowdy Warm-Up race is 100-laps, $2500 to win and $500 to start.  This will be the second chance teams from across the Midwest will have to prepare for the Rowdy. Template Late Models raced at Berlin on May 12 with the ARCA/CRA Super Series and there were 43 cars that showed up to time in.  The battle went right down to the end between home-town favorite Brian Campbell and 2011 JEGS All Stars Tour Champion Erik Jones.

This year will mark the fourth installment of the Rowdy 251 featuring NASCAR star Kyle Busch.  It was announced last week that former X-Games champion and current NASCAR Nationwide series driver Travis Pastrana will also pilot a car in the prestigious event.  The Rowdy 251 has one of the highest-to-start payouts in the country at $1,500.  Both Busch and Pastrana join Ross Kenseth, Chase Elliott, Erik Jones, Johnny VanDoorn, Daniel Hemric, Boris Jurkovic and Ben Kennedy, along with a host of local starts such as Terry VanHaitsma, Chris Anthony, Tim DeVos and Tom Thomas as early entrants. Tickets for the Rowdy 251 are $22 for adults while kids 11 and under get in for free; racing starts at 7:00 p.m. There will also be a pre-race autograph session.

The Rowdy Warm-Up on Saturday June 9 will feature the Coors Light Template Super Late Models along with the Kerkstra Services Sportsman, Burnips Equipment 4-Cylinders and Vintage Racing Organization of America.  Tickets will be $12 for adults while kids 11 and under get in for free; racing starts at 7:00 p.m.
